Consider a bequest…
If you have enjoyed the concerts presented by the Kettle Moraine Symphony, you may wish to consider including a bequest to the KMS in your own estate plan. This can be as simple as naming the KMS as the recipient of either a specific dollar bequest or of a set percentage
of the whole (such as 10%, which is probably the most common figure for charitable organizations.)
Gifts to the Kettle Moraine Symphony are generally tax-deductible for both income and estate tax purposes and may be particularly advantageous in the case of very large estates, or where an estate is likely to contain a substantial amount of deferred income (such as savings bonds or qualified accounts.) It is wise to consult a knowledgeable estate planning attorney to ensure that the tax benefits of your particular plan are optimized.
Even where there is no particular need to minimize death taxes, a gift to the Kettle Moraine Symphony in your will or trust is an ideal way to help assure that high quality live concert music will continue to be accessible to future Washington County audiences.
