Elizabeth Rhinehart wins 2018 Moraine Area Private Music Teachers Organization youth concerto competition

Elizabeth Rhinehart is a piano student of Lori Schneider, and a sophomore with High Honors at Hartford Union High School. She has been studying piano for seven years. Having previously won first place in the 6th grade and Junior divisions of the Washington County Concerto Auditions, this year she is excited to be the first place winner in the Senior Division, achieving her dream of performing with the Kettle Moraine Symphony.

Elizabeth has achieved success in other music festivals and competitions including winning Honorable Mention several times at the WMTA Badger Keyboard competition, earning a top score at the WSMA state solo and ensemble festival, winning a Moraine Musicians music camp scholarship which enabled her to attend Piano Camp at UW Whitewater and being selected to perform in the Moraine Musicians Honors Recital for the past four years.

In addition to playing piano, Elizabeth enjoys playing the cello in her school orchestra, and singing in the choir and musicals, as well as being an active member of Student Council. She recently enjoyed touring with the HUHS Band and Orchestra in London.

Outside of school she is an active 4-H member, acting as president of her club and participating in both county and state events. She is very involved in the sewing and archery projects. She has had both clothing items and hooked wool rugs showcased at the Wisconsin State Fair in past years, and recently modeled a dress at the State Fair Fashion Show. She is also an avid reader of fantasy novels in her spare time.
